Sophie Chester-Nash is a mixed race British-Bengali film director, videographer, and visual artist, based in London.
She completed a European Masters in Film Direction & New Media from Transforming Arts Institute, Madrid, and has a first degree in Physics from King's College London.
Born and bred in Nottingham, she's been making films and photographs since as long as she can remember and now she works with charities and organisations to tell audiovisual stories with political and social grounding.
She has shadowed Hetain Patel, been a BFI Development programme participant and Screenskills trainee/mentee for TV. She previously curated the digiArts fest celebrating digital art, managed the doc-fiction blog Demented Squirrel, and managed marketing for Contra Journal - a journal examining art and artists working on conflict and war.
